Freelance SEO consultant for US and Canadian businesses
I'm Kashif Rehman, a remote SEO consultant working from India. I help SaaS, ERP and other B2B software companies in the US and Canada show up on Google when buyers search for what they sell.
Rankings I have moved
From my in-house work for software companies in the US, managed remotely from India.
Google positions from my own tracking. Results differ by niche and competition.
An SEO consultant for SaaS companies and B2B software
Most of my experience is in software that is sold to other businesses. The buyers are specific, the searches are specific, and a generic SEO package rarely fits. I build the plan around how your customers actually look for a product like yours.
- SaaS and cloud softwareProduct, use-case and comparison pages that reach people who are already deciding.
- Microsoft Dynamics NAV and ERP companiesService, migration and add-on pages for developers, partners and software vendors.
- Inventory and supply-chain softwareFeature, industry and integration pages in a category with a lot of competition.
- Pharma and regulated-industry softwareNiche, high-value searches where a small number of visits can mean real enquiries.
- Service businesses in US and Canadian citiesLocal SEO, Google Business Profile and location pages.
Hire a freelance SEO expert, not an account manager
If you are comparing a freelance SEO consultant with an agency, the real difference is who does the work and how quickly decisions get made.
- You deal with me directlyThe person on the call is the person doing the audit, the fixes and the reporting. Nothing gets passed down to a junior.
- A plan built from your auditI look at your site, your competitors and your buyers first. Then I decide what is worth doing and in what order.
- Remote by defaultI have managed a US software company's SEO entirely from India. Calls happen on Zoom, Google Meet or Teams, and I schedule them around your working day.
- Reporting you can readEach month you get rankings, traffic, leads and a plain list of what I did and what comes next.
What a freelance technical SEO consultant does for you
Technical SEO is where I start, but it is only one part of the job. This is the full set of work I can take on.
Technical SEO audit
Crawling, indexing, Core Web Vitals, site speed and mobile problems that hold good pages back. See my technical SEO guide for how I approach it.
Keyword and intent research
Finding the searches that bring buyers, not just visitors, and the gaps your competitors have left open.
Content for software buyers
Comparison, integration, migration and use-case pages written to match what a buyer is trying to decide.
On-page SEO
Titles, headings, internal links, images and page structure so search engines and people can follow the page.
Link building
White-hat links from real sources: guest posts, useful resources and relevant directories.
AI search and AEO
Structuring your content so it can be picked up in AI answers and featured results. Read more about my AEO work.
SEO for Microsoft Dynamics NAV and ERP software
ERP buyers search in a few predictable ways. Some look for a developer or partner ("nav developer", "navision development company"). Some are planning a move and search for migration help. Others look for an add-on that solves one industry problem. Each of those needs its own page, written for that search.
Microsoft has moved its customers toward Dynamics 365 Business Central, so migration and upgrade searches are a large part of the picture now. I plan content around that shift, alongside the older NAV and Navision terms people still use.
For a New Jersey Dynamics NAV development company, I took "nav developer" from position 41 to position 2. The same company holds position 1 for "nav development company", "navision development company" and "Dynamics NAV migration". I also ranked a pharmaceutical ERP add-on product at position 1 for "pharmaceutical nav add-on" and "nav track & trace add-on".
If you sell NAV or Business Central services, add-ons or an ERP product, I can start with a free audit of the pages that should be bringing in enquiries.
SEO for cloud inventory management systems
Inventory software is a crowded category. Competing on "inventory management software" alone is slow and expensive. The faster route is to win the narrower searches first: a specific industry, a specific integration, a specific problem, or a wording like "cloud inventory system" that buyers use when they are close to choosing.
For a US-based cloud inventory platform, managed remotely from India, I moved "cloud inventory management system" from position 31 to position 4. The same work brought "goods management system" to position 2, "cloud inventory system" to position 6 and "inventory management system cloud" to position 5.
The approach is to build one strong page for each type of buyer, link them together properly, and fix the technical issues that keep those pages from being indexed and understood.
Ranking results from my past client work
These movements come from my years working in-house for software companies. I am showing them because they are real numbers I tracked myself. I am happy to walk through the approach on a call.
| Client type | Keyword | Before | Reached |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inventory software, New Jersey | cloud inventory management system | 31 | 4 |
| Inventory software, New Jersey | goods management system | — | 2 |
| Inventory software, New Jersey | cloud inventory system | — | 6 |
| Inventory software, New Jersey | inventory management system cloud | — | 5 |
| Dynamics NAV developer, New Jersey | nav developer | 41 | 2 |
| Dynamics NAV developer, New Jersey | nav development company | — | 1 |
| Dynamics NAV developer, New Jersey | navision development company | — | 1 |
| Dynamics NAV developer, New Jersey | Dynamics NAV migration | — | 1 |
| Pharma ERP software | pharmaceutical nav add-on | — | 1 |
| Pharma ERP software | nav track & trace add-on | — | 1 |
| Pharma ERP software | pharmaceutical track & trace software | — | 7 |
| Pharma ERP software | pharma wholesale ERP | — | 11 |
Positions are Google rankings I tracked at the time of the work. A dash means I do not have a starting position on record. SEO results depend on competition, site health and ongoing work, and no consultant can guarantee a ranking.

Freelance SEO consultant or agency?
| What matters | Freelance consultant | Typical agency |
|---|---|---|
| Who does the work | One person you speak to directly | A team, often with an account manager in between |
| Strategy | Built around your audit and competitors | Often a standard package |
| Speed of changes | Decisions made on the call | Usually passes through several people |
| Cost | Scope-based, no agency overhead | Usually higher, with overhead built in |
A good agency can be the right choice for very large sites or for teams that need many specialists at once. This table describes the common pattern, not every agency.
Who you would be working with
I'm Kashif Rehman. I spent more than six years as an in-house digital marketer, running SEO for companies in SaaS, ERP and pharma, including a New Jersey software company I managed entirely from India. In 2025 I became a freelance consultant, so clients now get that same experience directly, without agency layers.
I have completed the Google Digital Unlocked Fundamentals of Digital Marketing exam and the Semrush Academy SEO Fundamentals and Site Audit exams (see the certificates below). You can see my full work history on LinkedIn.

Questions from US and Canadian clients
Do you work with clients in the US and Canada from India?
Yes. I work remotely with clients in the US and Canada over Zoom, Google Meet or Teams, with email and WhatsApp for day-to-day questions. I schedule calls around your working hours.
How much does a freelance SEO consultant cost?
It depends on the size of your site, how competitive your market is and the work involved. After a free consultation I send a custom quote. I do not ask for long lock-in contracts.
How long does it take to see SEO results?
Most sites start to see meaningful movement in three to six months. Very competitive niches can take longer. I will tell you what is realistic for your market before we start.
Do you do SEO for SaaS companies?
Yes. My background is mainly in software sold to businesses, including a cloud inventory platform, a Microsoft Dynamics NAV development company and pharma ERP software.
Can you help with SEO for Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central?
Yes. I have ranked a NAV development company at position 1 for several developer and migration searches. I can plan pages for NAV, Business Central, migration and add-on searches.
What does a technical SEO audit include?
It covers crawling and indexing problems, site speed, Core Web Vitals and mobile usability. You get a prioritised list of fixes, not a long report with no direction.
Do you guarantee first-page rankings?
No. Nobody can honestly guarantee a ranking. What I can promise is a clear plan, careful work and regular reporting, so you can see what is happening.
